Gabriel is a well-written, well-played, compelling character that has been around since the older versions of our fine home, CUG. Just take a look around the Wanted threads, you'll see that plot whore Gabe's face is plastered on a large chunk of those pages as well as a few threads around the site. Gabe is also the founder of our first big plot on CUG, Fight Club, which you can check out here. We can't forget to mention Gabe's mama though, Mer is a huge asset to the CUG family. Despite running several successful sites of her own and staffing on other sites, Mer manages to make time for our humble abode. She's contributed more to this site than we can even appropriately thank her for and still Gabe is one of the most active characters on the site. Congrats, Mer! <3

UTOPIA
Utopians live safely inside the city walls. In this day and age, this is about as soft as anyone can get. They have all the books recovered from days gone by and are generally the most traditionally educated. Every Utopian has their own reason for choosing to live inside the city, some have families they refuse to expose to the outside, some are afraid, some are weak, some are desperately clinging to anything that reminds them of how the world used to be, some were born and bred inside these walls and some are just plain comfortable. They rely solely on traders for bringing goods from other ruins into the city.

ROULETTA
Living here is like a game of Russian Roulette. There's an Inn with a shoddy bar, some vacant houses you can squat in... These people are trying to reestablish what a real society is. Any trouble that blows through, they take care of it. Plenty of Vultures who have tried to disrupt this cozy little place have gone missing and wound up five miles east in a dried-up pond. Roulettans are nice to travelers, sure, but only so far as they can throw the people that come and go. Not every resident, and there aren't many, acts like they're part of the Cleaver Family. They stick together, and they are always... watching. Everyone knows everyone, and privacy's dead.

THE NETHERLANDS
The Netherlands have become little more than a graveyard. When the war began, most residents set sail or fled inland and those that didn't were infected. When enough casualties built up, the dead from the surrounding areas were carted up here to the boneyard. Now it smells of nothing but death and decay wherever you go, an acrid smell that lingers with you is inescapable. There is a rumour that there is a group that still inhabits the area, though they keep to themselves, occasionally thin, masked individuals in strange clothing can be seen scavenging around the border at night time, the Children of the Wastes.

THE COMMUNE
The Commune is a social oasis in the bowels of hell. A giant mansion reconverted to house immediate Commune members, it comes complete with acres of farm land, watch posts, and a watering hole that pours later on into the river. It's a community of close-knit people, mostly Monique and her adopted kids run the place, who follow the true Communist ideal. All for one, one for all. Real Three muskateers bullshit that actually works. But you'll know you've reached the place once you start smelling that heavenly aroma of rotting Infected. That's their security against them - a ring of bodies around the grounds, and around the crops. They keep the place clean and livable, though. You'll never get infected here if The Communists can help it. If you ask nice, and don't try to take the place over, or steal, then you may get a chance at eating food, feeling safe for a night, and not dying. The Commune play host to many travelling groups on their way to Utopia, Rouletta, and all the way around. Just... don't be stupid. You will get your ass beat, or your ass may just be shot. Then you'll be part of the security ring.

THE SPRING
No guys. It's not a mirage. It's the real thing. About a mile out of Utopia sits a welcoming spring where people often bathe and swim. No one really knows how the hell the clean water came to be, but most people reckon there's some sort of cave deep below the surface.

THE UNDERGROUND
A cave system that has only recently been discovered a few miles outside of the ruins of Dresden. Though it has great potential to be fortified and used as a new safe zone, it is currently occupied by lost outlanders and vultures, most of whom only stay for a short period of time before moving on. A number of people have already been infected in this area and no one knows how deep these caves go or where they have another exit...if they do...explore at your own risk.

THE POWER PLANT
Though it is one of many plants, this is the only one we have managed to get operational, though it's still quite iffy. A handful of individuals from assorted factions have committed themselves to the common cause of getting this running and clearing the area of the Infected.

DIDACT TRIUMPHANT CRUISE SHIP
Before the great disaster even occurred, engineers and scientists were working hard on a cruise ship that ran only on recycled sea water. At the time of the crisis, they doubled up on their research and decided to take a risk by setting off to sea on their prototype. The prototype proved successful and is still safely afloat today with its own little floating community, gathered over the years. Fairly recently, it dropped anchor just off the coast of Denmark, drawn in by some interesting radio broadcasts picked up in the area.

THE HOWLING CAVES
While most caves dubbed "howling" caves or something to that extent are generally harmless, only generating howling sounds when the wind sweeps through them. There's no wind blowing through here, what you're hearing are The Jackals. The Howling Caves are their home and intruding would be very ill-advised.

Ah, the beautiful city of l'amour. How tragic it is to see the Eiffel Tower surrounded by rubble, ruin and destruction. Keep quiet so the Infected don't hear you and step lightly if you wander near the subway system, as too many have fallen victim to traps lain around the entrances to the tunnels.

CAMPS
Various pockets of survivors have painstakingly set up several safe zones away from the constricting walls of established settlements. Many of these camps may be abandoned, as their residents may choose to move from camp to camp every few days, to keep the Infected from swarming their location. CEMETERIES
Most of the people killed in the wastelands didn't have much of a body left to recover, so there's not much buried here. These half-assed little wooden crosses with names scratched into them just offer a certain closure. THE WASTELANDS
From sea to shining sea, interrupted only by the occasional rubble and ruin of fallen cities, the wastelands stretch. If the Infected wandering through these hellish barrens don't get you first and you manage to avoid radiation exposure, chances are you'll eventually just starve to death or go mad before you get to where you're going. RUINS
Once upon a time, our world was covered by roaring metropolises and rural farm towns. When the war came, they were abandoned in the chaos. Some still stand, mostly the smaller, insignificant towns, empty shells with empty streets. Some were completely leveled by blasts. Either way, they're dangerous, crawling with the Infected and riddling with disease and radiation. Still good places to find supplies, if you're willing to take the risk. THE OCEAN
Polluted and dark, the only thing left mostly intact after humans destroyed their own planet. The ocean is more or less the same as it has always been. There's considerably less sea life in it though, due to pollutants and radiation and I wouldn't advise swimming out too deep, as things that were restricted the to bottom of the sea have been allowed to rise higher due to the darkness.
